What's New

16 March 2026 v1.0.18+34

iPad Cockpit Layout, Nav Dashboard Refresh & Onboarding

Headline Features

  • iPad Cockpit Layout — on tablets the nav dashboard transforms into a split‑screen cockpit: hero distance/bearing on the left, course diagram and mark list on the right. Glanceable numbers sized for distance viewing at the helm.
  • Nav Dashboard Refresh — new course info header with wind bearing, VHF channel and start location. Enhanced mark tiles with rounding indicators, leg timers and next‑leg wind context. Collapsible wind/mark controls for less clutter.
  • Course Diagrams — four chart modes (course/mark, static/animated), belt vs track rounding arcs, adjustable mark icon sizes, and active‑mark highlighting with opacity for passed/upcoming legs.
  • New Onboarding — location‑aware club discovery with a polished welcome flow. Shows every launch until you pick a sailing ground. Includes an interest form for coming‑soon sailing grounds.

Also New

  • Custom Courses — create your own mark sequences with the mark picker; the app auto‑navigates to the dashboard after creation
  • Race Timer — 5‑min and 4‑min gun preset buttons for quick start sequences
  • TWD long‑press opens the bearing picker for direct dial‑in
  • Completed long‑press abbreviation legends (BS, kn, opt, etc.) across the nav dashboard
  • Landscape support on phones with collapsible sidebar for wind/mark controls

Bug Fixes

  • Event switch no longer shows stale 2025 data under the 2026 season
  • Layout overflow fixed on smaller screens
  • Settings text overflow fixed
  • iOS Settings.bundle added — you can now see the app version in iOS Settings
Please test:
  • iPad cockpit — open the app on a tablet, start a race, check the split‑screen layout with hero numbers and course diagram
  • Course diagram — long‑press the diagram to try chart modes, belt/track toggle and mark icon sizing
  • Onboarding — delete and reinstall the app (or clear app data) to retrigger the welcome flow
  • Custom courses — create a 3+ mark sequence and navigate it start to finish
  • Race timer — try the 5‑min and 4‑min gun presets
  • Mark tiles — tap marks in the list to see wind details in the detail panel

3 March 2026 v1.0.16+32

Navigator Dashboard Refresh, Wind Tools & Race Timer Improvements

Navigation Dashboard

  • Enriched mark tiles with next‑leg context and clearer rounding info
  • Course info header and long‑press explainers for nav tiles
  • Race timer controller updates for more reliable start alignment

Wind & Point‑of‑Sail

  • Wind triangle diagram added to the expanded mark tile
  • AWA‑based point‑of‑sail labels with optimal angle/VMG hints
Please test: Start a race and check the new mark tile details. Toggle wind sources and verify the wind triangle + point‑of‑sail updates. Use long‑press explainers and confirm the race timer still aligns correctly.

  • Galaxy Watch support — your navigation mirrored to your wrist in real time
  • Race timer, mark list, and distance/bearing on the watch face
