Digimill Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the Race Marks mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.
Account Information: If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address (or a private relay email if you use Apple’s Hide My Email feature). This helps us:
Interest Registrations: When you register interest in a club or upcoming season, we store your user ID and the club/season you’re interested in so we can notify you when content becomes available.
Vessel Information: If you choose to provide details about your vessel (e.g., boat name, sail number, vessel type), this information is stored with your account and may be visible to club administrators during race tracking.
Location Data: Race Marks is a navigation app — location data is essential for it to work. We take the responsibility of handling your location data seriously and apply the principle of minimum necessary data at every stage. We only retain precise location information near navigable waters.
Where possible, we encourage you to connect your vessel’s onboard instruments to the App. Vessel-sourced data (via NMEA) provides richer marine environment information and is inherently associated with your boat rather than you personally, making it easier to anonymise effectively.
How location data is handled depends on your account type, settings, and context. The following table summarises our location data practices:

Marine Instrument Data: If you connect the App to your vessel’s onboard instruments and opt in to data sharing, we may collect marine environmental data including tidal flow, current speed and direction, water depth, and wind measurements. This data is:
Device Information: We collect device type, operating system version, and app version to diagnose issues and ensure compatibility.
Usage Analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to understand how people use the app — which features are popular, where users encounter problems, and how to improve the experience. This data is aggregated and doesn’t identify you personally.
Crash Reports: If the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics collects diagnostic information including the stack trace, device state, and recent user actions. This helps us fix bugs quickly.
Session Recordings (Beta): During the beta testing period, we use LogRocket to record app sessions. This captures screen activity, taps, and navigation within the app to help us understand usability issues. Session recordings:
Subscription Data: RevenueCat processes your purchases through the App Store or Google Play. We receive confirmation of your subscription status but do not receive or store your payment card details.
